Shibaura Industrial Engine EGR & DPF Tune
Shibaura diesels power a long list of compact tractors, skid steers and loaders sold under the Case, New Holland, Massey Ferguson, LS and Perkins names. We turn off the EGR and DPF on the 1.5L, 1.9L and 2.2L engines, either remotely through Perkins EST with a CAT Comm adapter or by bench flashing the ECM in our shop. We ship all across the US and Canada.

STEP 02ConnectHook the adapter up to the diagnostic plug and open a TeamViewer session.
STEP 03FlashOur tech reads the ECM in Perkins EST and writes the EGR and DPF delete file.

After the tune
EXHAUSTHollow out or straight pipe the DPFWith the filter turned off in the file, empty out the DPF canister or swap it for a straight pipe.
EGRBlock-off plate recommendedThe file keeps the EGR valve closed. Sealing the passage with a block-off plate as well is cheap insurance against a valve that sticks open later.

Why delete the EGR and DPF on a Shibaura engine?
EGR
Exhaust gas recirculation
Compact tractors and skid steers spend hours at part throttle, and the EGR keeps pushing sooty exhaust back into a small intake the whole time. On a small Shibaura that carbon builds up fast, sticking the valve and clogging the cooler until the machine sets a code and loses power. With the EGR shut off, the engine breathes clean air again.
DPF
Diesel particulate filter
Mowing, loader work and chores around the yard rarely get a small diesel hot enough to clean its own filter. The machine ends up asking for parked regens, burning extra fuel and eventually needing the filter cleaned or replaced. Turning the DPF off and emptying the canister puts an end to that cycle.

Q1How do I know if my machine has a Shibaura engine?+
Check the data plate on the valve cover or engine block. Every New Holland Boomer, the compact Farmall tractors and the smaller Case and New Holland skid steers use one, along with machines like the Massey Ferguson 1739E and LS XR4040.
Q2Should I choose remote tuning or bench flashing?+
Remote tuning is quickest if you have a Windows laptop and a CAT Comm adapter, since the ECM stays in the machine. Bench flashing suits anyone without the tools: you mail the ECM and we send it back the next business day.
Q3I already own a CAT Comm adapter. Can I use it?+
Yes. Let us know at checkout and we will use your adapter during the Perkins EST session. If you do not have one, add it to your order.
Q4Which displacement do I pick, 1.5L, 1.9L or 2.2L?+
The engine data plate lists the displacement. Send us a photo if you are unsure and we will confirm before you order.
Q5What do I do with the DPF afterwards?+
Once the file is installed, hollow out the DPF canister or replace it with a straight pipe. We also recommend an EGR block-off plate as a backup.
Q6Is there a warranty?+
Every Shibaura file carries a 1 year software warranty, whether it is flashed remotely or on our bench.
