Handheld tuning process

STEP 01OrderYour Reflash Master kit ships out, usually within 1 business day.
STEP 02ReadPlug the handheld into the diagnostic port and pull a copy of the stock ECM file.
STEP 03SendUpload the stock file to us and your tuned file comes back in roughly 2 hours.
STEP 04WriteLoad the tuned file onto the ECM from the cab and get back to work.

Why delete the DEF on a Case IH Magnum or Puma?

DEF

Diesel exhaust fluid

A Magnum or Puma putting in long days goes through DEF steadily, and that fluid has to be bought, stored and topped up on top of fuel. DEF is mostly water, so it can freeze and crack a tank over winter, and fluid left sitting can crystallize in the lines. Removing the DEF requirement takes all of that off your list.

SCR

Selective catalytic reduction

The SCR catalyst depends on a chain of parts: a dosing pump, an injector, heated lines and NOx sensors. One bad reading is enough to set a fault and cut power partway through planting or baling. With SCR monitoring turned off in the ECM, those faults can no longer put the tractor into derate.

One engine, two ratings

Case IH builds the Magnum 280 on the same engine as the Magnum 380. What separates them is the calibration in the ECM. That is why these tractors take tuning so well, and why a Magnum 340 can safely run up to 435 hp.

Q2Do I need to change the exhaust?+

No. These tractors have no DPF, and the SCR catalyst can stay where it is without holding back flow. Nothing on the exhaust is cut or swapped.

Q3What happens to the DEF tank?+

Once the file is loaded, the tractor stops dosing and monitoring DEF, so the tank can sit empty. DEF level, quality and heater faults will not come back.

Q4Can I use the handheld on another machine?+

Yes. The Reflash Master is yours to keep. Call us and we will unlock it for another tractor or machine in your fleet.

Q5Will a horsepower tune burn more fuel?+

Only when you use the extra power. The tune builds torque earlier, so the engine can do the same job at lower load, and many owners see fuel use hold steady or drop.

Q6How fast do you ship?+

Kits go to the US and Canada, usually within 1 business day. Expedited orders placed after 12 ET ship the following day.
