Tuning Options:
We have the ability to flash John Deere equipment via our handheld device, or by bench flashing the engine control module. The Reflash Master handheld device is a great way to flash the engine control module (ECM) remotely. This allows Customers to bring the device to the machine, and have the ability to read and write the ECM on site. Bench flashing is a great alternative to the handheld device, this option is available if there is no way to reset the soot levels on site. If a machine is in derate due to high soot levels in the diesel particulate filter, please select the Bench Flashing option. This will allow us to write the ECM, and reset all soot levels while the control module is on the bench. On rare occasions, there may be a situation where the handheld device cannot connect properly to the engine control module due to an overload on the can bus system. This affects the modified file being written onto the control module. When this happens, the engine control module will have to be shipped to us for bench flashing in order to complete the tune. If you have any questions about which option is right for you, please feel free to reach out; sales@reimertuning.com
Horsepower Tuning:
- Stage 1 Tune focuses on fuel economy with small torque increase
- Stage 2 Tune focuses on HP and performance with a fuel economy boost
In need of more power?
This is a question that we get asked quite often. If you are in a situation where you feel like the machine you have is lacking in the horsepower department, we can help! When it comes to horsepower increases, the best way to explain it is that we are making the engine more efficient. It produces more power, sooner. When operating the equipment, it will take less load on the engine to get up to speed. This reduced the overall load on the engine, and as a result reduces the amount of fuel required. If there is a situation where more power is needed, you’ll have the extra horsepower available to you! It really is the best of both worlds.
What is an EGR System, and why remove them?
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is a method that is used to control Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emissions. The purpose of this system is to return a small portion of exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber through the intake manifold. Lowering combustion temperature, resulting in a reduction of NOx emissions. The issue with EGR systems is that the valve can stick open due to carbon deposits. A worst case scenario is that the EGR becomes completely blocked, this will result in poor fuel mileage and a loss of power. When this occurs, it results in engine warning lights and the equipment going into limp mode. The vast majority of exhaust gas recirculation valves power off in the closed position. This means that once they are de-energized, they are in the shut position. On a few select applications, we offer block off plates. These plates are used as a fail safe, to ensure that there is no exhaust coming back into the intake system.
What is a DPF System, what do you need to do with it?
The diesel particulate filter, or DPF is part of the exhaust aftertreatment system. It’s main purpose is to trap particulate matter, such as soot. This soot has to be periodically burned off, which regenerates the filter. When the soot level reaches a high enough percentage, the engine starts to inject fuel directly into the exhaust system. This creates heat and converts soot into carbon dioxide. Having to deal with regen can cause down time for the machine. In some cases, the DPF will have to be replaced, or cleaned manually. Not to mention it is also extremely restrictive on the engine's ability to push air out. When it comes to removing the DPF canister, the only decision you have to make is whether you hollow it out or straight pipe it!
Emissions tuning is for off-road use only. Please consult your Provincial or State legislation, as this product may not be street legal. Removal of emissions systems cannot be performed on vehicles that are registered for highway use. It is up to the Consumer to know and understand their local legislation prior to purchasing.
