Case IH AFX Combine DEF Delete Tune

Harvest runs on short windows, and a DEF warning or SCR derate can eat into one fast. Our Reflash Master handheld switches off the DEF/SCR system on 2014 - Present Axial-Flow 40 series and 50 series combines through the diagnostic port, with no changes to the exhaust. Add a Stage 1 or Stage 2 horsepower tune for up to 18% more power at the rotor. We ship all across the US and Canada.

Why delete the DEF on a Case IH AFX combine?

DEF

Diesel exhaust fluid

A big combine running dawn to dark through harvest drinks DEF alongside diesel, so someone has to keep jugs or a tote on hand and fill a second tank in the field. The fluid also has a shelf life: it degrades in summer heat, and a machine parked from fall to the next season can come out with frozen or crusted fluid. Dropping DEF ends the extra fill-ups and the off-season worry.

SCR

Selective catalytic reduction

On a combine, the SCR hardware lives in heat, vibration and chaff. NOx sensors, the dosing module, line heaters and the pump all report to the ECM, and when any one of them drifts out of range the engine can drop power with a full grain tank and crop still standing. Turning SCR monitoring off in the calibration stops those parts from deciding when you harvest.

7250 and 8250: one block, two ratings

The mid-size AFX combines share the FPT Cursor 13 engine. A 7250 and an 8250 carry the same 12.9 L block, and the ECM calibration is what sets each rating. That headroom is why the 8250 can move from 480 hp to 566 hp with software alone.

01Shared Cursor 13Both models use the same 12.9 L engine. The file decides the output.
02Up to 566 hpStage 2 lifts a stock 8250 by 86 hp, to as much as 566 hp.
03Power when the crop is heavyExtra torque keeps rotor speed up in tough, damp crop so you can hold ground speed.

Frequently asked questions

Q1Why choose Reimer Tuning for my AFX combine?+

We write every AFX calibration in house, so the file on your 8250 or 9240 comes from the people who answer the phone. Tuned files return in about 2 hours, and each one carries a 1 year software warranty.

Q2Do I need to change the exhaust?+

No. The combine has no DPF to remove, and the SCR catalyst stays in place. You only change the engine software.

Q3What happens to the DEF tank?+

With the new file loaded, the engine ignores the DEF system completely. You can leave the tank dry, and DEF level or quality warnings will not appear.

Q4Can I use the handheld on another machine?+

Yes. You own the Reflash Master after purchase. Give us a call and we can license it for another combine or tractor on your operation.

Q5Will a horsepower tune burn more fuel?+

Added horsepower lets the Axial-Flow keep its rotor speed up while you run a faster ground speed, so you harvest more acres per hour. Gallons per hour may go up somewhat, but because the work gets done faster, gallons per acre typically stay about even or fall.

Q6How fast do you ship?+

Most kits leave our shop the next business day for anywhere in the US or Canada. Expedited orders placed after 12 PM ET go out the day after.

Q7Disclaimer+

Off-road use only. This kit is not for any machine registered for highway use. Confirm your local state or provincial regulations before buying.
