CAT Tier 4A Skid Steer DPF & EGR Delete Tune

Keep your CAT working instead of waiting on regens. We bench flash the ECM on your Tier 4A CAT skid steer or CTL to switch off the EGR and DPF for good, with optional Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes up to 89 hp. We ship all across the US and Canada.

Why delete the DPF and EGR on a CAT skid steer?

DPF

Diesel particulate filter

A CAT under steady load packs its DPF with soot, and the ECM eventually calls for a regen that burns extra fuel and slows the job down. Miss enough regens and the filter plugs, leaving you with a cleaning bill or a new canister. Delete it and the exhaust leaves the engine with nothing in the way.

EGR

Exhaust gas recirculation

Part of the exhaust gets piped back into the intake air, and the soot it carries bakes onto the EGR valve and cooler. Once the valve hangs up you get dash codes, weak throttle response and a derate. Our reflash turns the EGR off, so the engine only breathes clean air.

CAT skid steers for mulching and forestry

Long days on a mulching head or brush cutter push a CAT’s aftertreatment system to its limit. For forestry work, this is the setup we recommend:

01EGR and DPF deleteNo more regens or EGR faults in the middle of a job.
02Stage 2 tune · 89 hpExtra power to keep the head spinning in heavy material.
03Hollow or pipe the DPFFree-flowing exhaust that moves heat out of the engine bay.

Frequently asked questions

Q1Why choose a Reimer Tuning reflash for my CAT skid steer?+

These CAT machines run the same engine family as the Kubota SVL95. We bought our own SVL95 and built this file in house before bringing it to market, and helped develop the protocol needed to reflash these machines.

Q2Will I have warning lights after the reflash?+

No. Once our file is installed there are no emissions warning lights on the dash, and the machine will not go into regen.

Q3My aftertreatment harness is damaged. Does it need to be repaired?+

Yes. The exhaust gas temperature sensors must stay plugged in for CAN bus resistance, so the aftertreatment harness has to be in working condition. The differential pressure sensor does not need to be reconnected, and with a straight pipe the harness can be zip tied out of the way. The sensors do not have to go back into the exhaust.

Q4Can you bypass a DPF filter?+

Yes. All aftertreatment sensors are turned off, so the DPF can be removed completely. You can hollow out the canister or straight pipe it.

Q5Will the horsepower tune increase fuel use?+

Our Stage 1 (+10%, 81 hp) and Stage 2 (+20%, 89 hp) tunes use a linear map, so power comes in sooner. Run it at lighter load and you can save fuel, with the extra power there when the job needs it.

Q6Do you ship to the United States and Canada?+

Yes. We serve owners across Canada and the US. After you order we email shipping and customs instructions for your ECM.

Why Reimer Tuning

These CAT machines share their engine family with the Kubota SVL95, so we bought our own SVL95 and built this file in house before it ever went on sale. Canadian owned since 2014, with real tech support behind every tune.
