Handheld tuning process

STEP 02ReadConnect the handheld to the M4 and save a copy of the ECM file.
STEP 03SendEmail the read to us and get the tuned file back in about 2 hours.
STEP 04WriteFlash the new file to the ECM and the tractor is ready to work.

Why delete the DPF and EGR on a Kubota M4?

DPF

Diesel particulate filter

An M4 doing yard work, mowing or light PTO jobs rarely runs hot enough for long enough to keep its filter clean. The ash and soot pile up, the dash calls for a regen, and the tractor sits burning fuel while it cleans itself. Once the DPF is deleted, those regen stops are over.

EGR

Exhaust gas recirculation

The M4 recirculates part of its exhaust to cool combustion, and the soot in that gas slowly cakes the valve and intake. A valve that hangs open or plugs up costs power, raises fuel use and can drop the tractor into limp mode. Our tune turns the EGR off, and a plate and gasket seal the port for good.

Frequently asked questions

Q1What makes a Reimer Tuning reflash right for my Kubota M4?+

Our M4 files are built by our own tuners, not bought from a file service, and each one carries a 1 year software warranty. Most tuned files are back within about 2 hours, and you can call us at any point while you tune.

Q2Can the Reflash Master be used on another machine?+

Yes. You keep the handheld after your M4 is done, and we can unlock it through our server for another tractor or machine. Give us a call and we will set it up.

Q3Is there a straight pipe for the M4?+

No, we do not offer piping for this tractor. The usual approach is to remove the filter element from the factory DPF housing, and the kit instructions walk you through it. The tune runs the same once the filter is out.

Q4Can I put my M4 back on the factory file later?+

Yes. The Reflash Master saves a copy of your original Kubota file before anything is written, so you can flash the M4 back to stock whenever you need to. If you get stuck, call us and we will walk you through it.

Q5Do you ship to the United States and Canada?+

Yes. The handheld kit goes out to anywhere in the US and Canada, normally within 1 business day when you choose overnight shipping.
