Why delete the DPF, EGR and DEF on a Kubota M7?

DPF

Diesel particulate filter

Low-load work like idling at the feed bunk never gets the M7 exhaust hot enough to clean the filter on its own, so soot builds fast and parked regens follow. Each one ties up the tractor and adds fuel for no work done. With the filter deleted, there is nothing left to clog.

EGR

Exhaust gas recirculation

The EGR feeds cooled exhaust back into the 6.1L intake, and that sooty air leaves deposits in the valve, cooler and intake. A sticking valve brings fault codes and a lazy throttle. On the M7 the EGR is turned off entirely in our software, with no blocker plate to install.

DEF

Diesel exhaust fluid / SCR

DEF crystallizes, freezes in an unheated shed and goes stale in the tank, and the pump, heaters and NOx sensors that handle it are costly to replace. When any part of that chain faults, the M7 derates. Our file switches the SCR off, so the DEF tank can stay empty.

Kubota M7 for loader and dairy work

Barn chores mean short runs, lots of idling and stop-start loader work, the duty cycle that gives aftertreatment the most trouble. What changes after the tune:

Frequently asked questions

Q1Do I have to fix a damaged aftertreatment harness first?+

No. The M7 file takes the whole aftertreatment harness out of the picture, and the CAN bus carries on normally without it. Leave the sensors disconnected; no resistors or jumpers are needed.

Q2Do you sell a straight pipe for the M7?+

No, there is no pipe for this tractor. Most owners hollow out the factory DPF canister so the exhaust looks stock. The reflash runs the same either way.

Q3Which M7 models can run Stage 2?+

Every model on this page. Stage 2 adds about 20% over stock on the M7-131/132, M7-151/152 and M7-171/172, which puts the top-rated M7 at 202 hp.

Q4Will the tune burn more fuel on my M7?+

Not in normal use. Fuel and boost are raised in step, so the engine reaches working torque sooner and loafs through jobs it used to strain at. On loader and mixer work, most owners see the same or lower fuel use.

Q5Do you ship to the United States and Canada?+

Yes. M7 owners in both countries mail their modules to us. Once you check out, we email the packing and customs steps for the ECM and ACM.
